In EY1, children explored the Singapore Maths concept of “heavy and light” through meaningful, hands-on experiences such as lifting objects, weighing cylinders on a scale, and comparing weights with friends. Likewise, children investigated real-life materials using their bodies and their senses as well.
Through playful experimentation, they made observations, shared ideas, and developed early mathematical language. This experience fostered curiosity, problem-solving, collaboration, and confidence in expressing one's thoughts, key foundations for lifelong learning.
These moments reflect our belief that young children learn best through active exploration, where play becomes a powerful pathway to understanding.
