Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and inspiring English Teacher to teach across the IB MYP and DP, with the opportunity to take on a provisional Head of English Department role.
This is an exciting opportunity for a strong classroom practitioner ready to contribute to curriculum development and lead the growth of the English department within a dynamic international school.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching & Learning
- Deliver engaging, inquiry-based English lessons across MYP and DP.
- Prepare students for IB assessments, including DP coursework and examinations.
- Differentiate learning to support a range of student needs.
- Develop high-quality teaching resources and learning experiences
- Support key IB components such as Extended Essay and TOK where relevant.
Department Leadership (Provisional)
- Support the development and alignment of the English curriculum across MYP and DP.
- Contribute to departmental planning, assessment design, and standardisation.
- Collaborate with leadership on department priorities and improvement planning.
- Promote high standards of teaching and learning within the department.
Assessment & Progress
- Monitor, assess, and report on student progress in line with IB standards.
- Provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Use assessment data to inform teaching and support student achievement.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with colleagues, DP Coordinator, and school leadership.
- Maintain clear communication with students and parentsParticipate actively in meetings, conferences, and school events.
School Community
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive school culture.
- Support student wellbeing and safeguarding.
- Engage in wider school life, including trips and events.
Candidate Profile
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or related field.
- Native English.
- Strong teaching experience in secondary English.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable
- Experience teaching IB MYP and/or DP English.
- Leadership or department coordination experience.
- Master’s degree in relevant field.

You will work closely with students, families, teachers, and external specialists to create an inclusive learning environment, oversee Individualised Education Plans (IEPs), and support staff in delivering high-quality differentiated teaching.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and managing the school’s Inclusion Programme.
- Developing and maintaining IEPs and student accommodation plans.
